# Indoor Activity Space - Mildly Ill

(a) In addition to Section 101238.3, the following shall apply:&#x20;

(b) In combination centers with a Level I or Level II component for mildly ill children, indoor activity space for the Level I or Level II component shall be physically separate from indoor activity space for any other child care center component.&#x20;

&#x20;  (1) Physical separation shall include but not be limited to:&#x20;

&#x20;     (A) Moveable partitions.&#x20;

&#x20;     (B) Accordion wall dividers.&#x20;

&#x20;     (C) Separate rooms.

(c) In the designated napping area, there shall be at least 15 square feet of indoor space for each child's bed, cot, floor mat or couch; and for each infant's crib, cot or floor mat.&#x20;

&#x20;  (1) The square-footage requirement in Section 101638.3(c) shall be in addition to the requirement of 35 square feet of indoor activity space per child as specified in Section 101238.3.&#x20;

&#x20;  (2) Napping equipment, unless separated by screens, shall be placed at least three feet apart when in use.&#x20;

&#x20;  (3) The designated napping area shall be separate from the indoor activity area.
